Brief of Lalbagh Botanical Garden

Located in South Bangalore, Lalbagh Botanical Garden spans over 240 acres and has more than 1,000 species of plant, many of which are over a hundred years old. The Lalbagh garden was initially commissioned by Raja Hyder Ali in 1760 and later completed by his son, Tipu Sultan. In 2002, a Bonsai Garden was added to the premises. In addition, Lalbagh also houses a Rose Garden, a Lotus Garden, and a Bonsai Garden. Additionally, there is a "Garden Center" where visitors can purchase ornamental plants. While eating outside food is prohibited within the garden, several shops inside offer food, juices, and other refreshments. One of Lalbagh's unique features is the oldest rock on its hill, Lal Bagh rock. The main attraction of the garden is the Glass House, constructed with iron and glass. Every year, during the weeks of Republic Day and Independence Day, Lalbagh hosts a flower exhibition, which showcases a variety of exquisite floral displays. Visitors can also enjoy these sculptures crafted from wood.
